My husband has a gift.
Ok, he has many gifts (I can tell you he's blushing this now while reading this), but the gift I am talking about is his baby soothing gift.
Monkey isn't that baby that will fall asleep anywhere when he's over tired, he is a creature of habit and requires his crib or Daddy to sleep. He also missed that memo that breastfed babies are suppose to fall asleep at the breast when they are full and content, instead he'd rather play when he's done.
4:30am this morning was a prime example. After he ate he was ready to get up for the day. That was so not happening. So I called in the Big Guns, aka Husband. When this happens we call it "patting the baby down", and we use this technique any time Monkey is fighting sleep.
To do this Husband tucks Monkey into one arm and pats his butt, firmly and rythmetically. (Hey, it's got to be firm to be felt through all those layers of butt fluff.) Sometimes Monkey will protest cry for a few minutes, sometimes not at all. Sometimes he falls right out, sometimes he fights it for nearly 30 minutes; but Husband is diligent and despite his hand condition pushes on. Husband can get him to sleep this way in church in the Beco, sitting on the rocking chair or laying on the couch. Monkey is no match for Daddy's Gift.
Other babies have fallen victim to this gift as well; and the look of amazement by other parents in always amazing. Husband likes to say it's his version of Dr. Harvey Karp's Happiest Baby on the Block. But no matter what you call it, it is a gift... and for that I am thankful. (Now if only I could learn to fall back asleep at 4:30am as well.)

Butt Fluff Review: handsewnbyme
This is a review of the second cloth diaper (but first received) that I bought of etsy.com.
This diaper was bought from handsewnbyme. I saw this diaper and just knew Monkey needed it.
The outer layer is 100% cotton flannel and the inner layer is made out of 3 layers of Zorb.
Conclusion: I would totally buy cloth diapers from this seller again. I would however probably by a larger size, to accommodate for Monkey's long torso.
Full Disclosure: I purchased the item reviewed myself and I have not been asked to or compensated for reviewing this product.

Pros:
- Super cute
- Very well made
- Trim fit
- Good elastic around the legs - read: no leaking here
- Protective tabs to keep the Velcro closure clean in the wash
- A great price: $9 (plus $3 for shipping)
- The Zorb core really holds a lot of moisture
- Awesome customer service by the seller - very prompt, very polite
- Velcro closure is super easy to use
Cons:
- It's not an AIO (all in one), and a cover is recomended; which is a shame since it's so cute. I used it with and without a cover, and noticed only a slight difference as the Zorb holds a lot.
- It needed to be washed prior to use, which is true for all cloth diapers; but it had to be washed 10 to 12 times to allow the Zorb to get to maximum absorbency.
- With all of the washing pre-wearing it by the time Monkey wore it, it didn't look new anymore
- The outside cover had some pilling after all the washing (maybe it's how I washed it).
- The rise (17" on the size medium I bought) was a little short for Monkey's long torso.
- I can see Monkey being able to undo the Velcro closure in the future, it could stand to be a little wider.
Conclusion: I would totally buy cloth diapers from this seller again. I would however probably by a larger size, to accommodate for Monkey's long torso.

Operation Omega
Tonight we launched Operation Omega. It did not start off very well.
What is Operation Omega? This is what we are calling our plan to add more Omega 3, 6 and 9 into Turkey's diet. When we received this Asperger's and ADHD diagnosis, or friends and family offered their advice: limit his sugar, go vegan, go gluten free, add more omegas.
I'm not a fan of limiting his sugar. In my few experiences around kids who are on limited sugar diets, and then they say go to a party; it's been a nightmare.
We did gluten free for a while when he was a toddler and the doctor thought he had Celiac's Disease. That as hard.
I can't do vegan, too much of a change and not really compatible with our family lifestyle right now.
So I looked into what affects the increase in omegas would have, and I felt this is a good route for us to take.
So I searched and searched and did my research and opted to buy Nordic Natural's Omega 3-6-9 Jr. They were suppose to be a chewable soft capsule and the bottle boosted a great lemon taste. None of the reviews I read on-line prepared me for these. Chewable is a joke? And they taste like lemon, until you get that hit you in the face fish taste, YUCK!!!
Turkey could not take them. So now I need to figure out how to get him to take them. But it's a start....
